Grilled Baked Potatoes

Recipes like these are my favorite – just 3 ingredients needed for something truly amazing. Yes, potatoes on their own can be bland but when they are grilled perfectly, they can be truly incredible! And honestly, you can eat them plain or add just simple salt and butter to the inside. Or, if you’re like me, you can totally make them a meal like my Chili Stuffed Potatoes! These were grilled on my Yoder Smokers Flattop Grill with charcoal but you can easily make these on a pellet grill or a gas grill. The important thing to remember is that you want the grill to be set to 350F and use indirect heat.” –Lori Monte, The Kitchen Whisperer

INGREDIENTS

  • Russet and/or Sweet Potatoes
  • Olive oil (about 1 teaspoon per potato)
  • Kosher Salt (about 1/2 teaspoon per potato)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the Grill to 350F for indirect heat. You can also do directly over the flames IF the flames/charcoal are well below the potatoes.
  2. Clean your potatoes, dry them, coat them liberally with olive oil, and season on with Kosher salt.
  3. Grill for 30 minutes then turn over and, depending on the size of the potato, it’ll take another 20-35 minutes until they are perfectly done.
  4. Once they are done, remove them from the grill and serve.
