Smoked Salsa on the Yoder

“Smoked Salsa on the Yoder YS640S pellet smoker is so tasty and super easy to make. There’s no reason to not have this in your fridge ready for some chips or tacos!”

INGREDIENTS

  • 4-5 tomatoes, quartered - any kind will do
  • 1/2 sweet onion (mine was huge so I only used 1/4)
  • 2 jalapeños, halved with seeds and ribs
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 bunch of cilantro
  • 2 Tbsp cumin
  • 1 Tbsp Mexican oregano
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • salt, pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Put the tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños in your YS640S at 200-25° and let them smoke for at least 30 min.
  2. Remove and let cool slightly.
  3. Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend using short pulses to get a salsa with texture. (Let er’ rip if you want yours more liquidy.)
  4. Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking. Enjoy!

*Optional: If you want it really smokey, drop your temperature to 170-200° but don’t smoke much longer than 45min.

Note: This will keep in your fridge for 5 days if you use a container with a tight fitting lid.
